AOL Artists + Behance Motion Canvas Competition

Just stumbled upon this creative contest AOL run last year, in collaboration with creative community and platform Behance.net. The competition was part of AOL Artist, the company’s art sponsorship program.

Gifted mind reader reveals his trick: the web

Great video from Febelfin (Financial Sector Federation) to support their Safe Internet Banking initiative. Educating internet users on online safety and privacy is a little like telling them to eat their vegetables: everyone knows you’re right, but no one bothers to take action. This simple yet brilliant narrative gets the point across!

The campaign was the work of  Duval Guillaume Modem.

Touchy: Human Camera, activated by social interaction

I have always dreamed of being able to capture what goes through my eyes. Touchy lets you do just that… with a catch.

The “human camera” is touch-enabled and only prolonged contact with the “wearer” (10 seconds)  can activate the device.

A poetic reflexion on technology’s propension to create distance while solving problems.

Google[x] - Project Glass

Looks like the future. When augmented reality meets the web, geolocation, social and turns us into ‘augmented beings’. There is another word for that: cyborg. Sexy, fascinating… and a little creepy.

Some of these contextual features could be incredibly useful, some others clear distractions. I can also imagine so many ways this could be used as social cheats (yeah, I look like I’m talking to you right now, but what I’m really doing is reading notes out loud, or looking up the wikipedia entry for this artist you love and I had never heard of, or maybe I’m simply bored and checking pictures on FB).

My favorite functionality, by far, is the integrated camera and screen sharing features (1:42 to 2:20). Better hope that no one hacks into your “glass” though…

Check out the project page.
